Swingdex is a free golf-fitting tool. It works without an account. This page tells you exactly what we collect, why, and how to get it deleted. We've tried to keep it readable. If anything is unclear, emailcustomer@swingdex.golf.

What we collect

Swing data you upload

When you upload a launch-monitor CSV or enter numbers manually, we parse it into a swing profile (club speed, ball speed, spin, launch angle, smash, attack angle) and store it with a random session ID. We never store your raw CSV after parsing. We don't link this data to your real identity unless you save the report with your email.

Email address (optional)

If you choose to save your report, we ask for your email and send you a one-time magic link. We store the email alongside the session so you can retrieve the report later. We never send your email to anyone outside our own email delivery service (Resend, US-based).

IP address (transient)

When you request a magic link, we briefly store the IP address of the request to prevent abuse of the email-sending system. IP addresses are deleted within 30 days.

If you tick the marketing opt-in box when saving, we also add you to a product-updates list. You can unsubscribe with one click from the footer of any email we send.

Affiliate clicks

When you tap a Buy button, we log the click (which SKU, which retailer, timestamp) so we can measure which recommendations are useful. We do not share your email or session ID with the retailer.

Cookies

We use one cookie: swingfit_session. It's set only after you click a magic link, lasts 30 days, and lets you see your saved reports. It's HttpOnly + Secure + SameSite=Lax. No third-party advertising cookies. No cross-site tracking.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to count page views and broad funnel events (upload started, report viewed, buy clicked). Plausible is cookieless and doesn't collect personal data — see their data policy.

How long we keep things

• Anonymous reports (no email): auto-deleted by a nightly job once they pass 90 days.
• Saved reports (with email): kept until you delete them or close your account. Email customer@swingdex.golf to request deletion.
• IP addresses (magic-link rate-limit): deleted within 30 days by the same nightly job.
• Marketing list: until you unsubscribe.
• Aggregate analysis: we analyse session inputs and swing data in aggregate, anonymised form (cohort statistics — never individual profiles) to improve fitting accuracy and understand our users as a group.
• Affiliate click logs: 12 months, then aggregated and purged.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act and the EU GDPR, you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to marketing. Email customer@swingdex.golf and we'll respond within 30 days.

If you believe we've mishandled your information, email us first. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. EU residents may also complain to their national data protection authority.

Data breaches

If we become aware of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you and (where required) the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Age

Swingdex is intended for users aged 16 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided data to us, email customer@swingdex.golf and we'll delete it.

Affiliate links

Buy buttons on the report page link to retail partners. We may earn a small commission on purchases at no extra cost to you. The recommendation logic doesn't use commission rates as an input — we score on fit, not on what pays us best.

Who runs Swingdex

Swingdex is currently run as a personal project. If that changes (e.g. we incorporate or sell the business), we'll update this page and notify anyone with a saved report before any data transfer.

Updates

If we change anything material on this page, we'll bump the "Last updated" date and email anyone on the marketing list.
